The International Widows’ Day is set aside and ratified by the United Nations (UN) to address the poverty and injustice faced by millions of widows and their dependents with the primary aim of raising awareness to the global issues of widowhood.
The Rose of Sharon Foundation is spiritually mandated and committed not to allow their plights to go unnoticed. We are determined to fight for their rights and provide succour to them as best as we can. Though we celebrate them regularly but June 22nd is a special day.
Our theme for this year’s celebration is “Upholding the Human Rights of Widows : The Law and Cultural Practices”.
